About Stallion Cross Publishing

H.B. Bender

Gospel Hope Writer

With over 22 years as an Army Chaplain, I’ve counseled and equipped thousands of Soldiers with Gospel-centered hope through combat, moral injury, and life’s battles. Through sermons, Bible studies, and Scripture-rooted resilience programs, I’ve helped warriors rediscover Christ’s strength and build military-grade faith.

Today, I write books and create resources that exalt Christ, equip the Saints, and help believers stand firm in every trial.

If you desire deeper faith and greater conformity to Christ, you’re in the right place. Welcome — let’s grow together.

How This Started

Stallion Cross was my call sign on my very first deployment. It stuck — not just as a name, but as a kind of marker for everything that came after.

I have served as a military Chaplain for twenty-two years. Five deployments. More conversations about faith and failure than I can count. And the one that changed everything was the simplest: a Soldier told me he wanted to read the Bible but did not understand it. He asked what he should read that would help him make sense of it.

I did not have a good answer. Not because nothing existed. Commentaries, study Bibles, devotionals, and reading plans fill entire shelves. The Church has spent two thousand years helping people understand Scripture, and I would never pretend otherwise. But nothing I could hand that Soldier would do what he was actually asking for — make the Bible feel real to someone standing in the middle of real life.

That question stayed with me. And it became the reason this publishing house exists.

At Stallion Cross Publishing, we know that earnest Christians feel they are failing God because they cannot make their way through the Bible. We labor to render Scripture as an episodic story they cannot set down, so that every believer may journey through all sixty-six books and find their faith fortified rather than fractured.

Many Christians long to know God through His Word, but they keep beginning the Bible and giving up. Each failed attempt lays down another layer of guilt, until they feel like frauds disappointing God — and some, reading the hard books alone, lose their faith altogether.

Stallion Cross Publishing recasts the whole of Scripture as an episodic series — recaps, hooks, and cliffhangers — in a voice both doctrinally sound and humanly near. The believer who once abandoned the Bible by Leviticus now presses on to the next episode, grasps the whole story for the first time, and reads not from guilt but from hunger.

Stallion Cross Publishing exists because when the Bible becomes a story you cannot set down, faith ceases to be something you fail at and becomes something you dwell within.

What We Publish

We publish books that take Scripture seriously and take readers seriously.

That means Christ-centered content built on solid theology. It means writing that respects the reader’s intelligence without requiring a seminary degree. It means books you can hand to a new believer or a tired saint and know they’ll find something real inside.

Our first series, The Episodic Bible, is a cinematic chapter-by-chapter companion to every book of the Bible. Genesis is live now. The full 66-book library is the long-term vision.

We’re not trying to publish a thousand titles. We’re trying to publish the right ones.

What We Believe

Stallion Cross Publishing holds to these convictions:

  • The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God. Every book we publish is built on that foundation.
  • Scripture is meant to be entered, not just studied. Head knowledge without heart transformation misses the point.
  • Every book of the Bible points to Jesus Christ. We read the whole story through its ultimate fulfillment in Him.
  • Good theology and good writing aren’t enemies. Depth and clarity belong together.
  • The Church deserves better resources. We’re here to help build them.
